Hello,
On Tuesday, the American people handed down a resounding victory for
democratic candidates, a shock to Trump and Republicans everywhere heading into
2026.
Republicans have been focused on expanding their power through partisan
gerrymandering, but the Democrat’s victory this week is pushing Trump to
resurrect some of his favorite lies.
In an address <[link removed]> to Republican
Senators, Donald Trump railed against the loss, claiming:
“We should start tonight with ‘the country's open congratulations.’ Then we
should pass Voter ID, we should pass no mail-in voting, we should pass all the
things we want to pass to make our elections safe… They want no voter ID, it’s
only for one reason: they cheat… If you have mail in ballots, automatically
it’s corrupt.”
Later that same day, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the
administration <[link removed]> was
considering an Executive Order to combat alleged voter fraud in California from
mail-in ballots.
Now that Republicans are seeing their 2024 gains erode, they’re looking for
excuses to limit the electorate for their own political gain. Handing down an
executive order to weaken or kill mail-in ballots isn’t just possible. It’s
being worked on right now.
Voting Rights Fund is ready to fight back.
We will defend your right to vote by mail and push for common-sense voter ID
laws that protect, not restrict, democracy. But reforms to the most fundamental
right in America, the right to vote, cannot come from an administration that
uses lies as justifications for those changes.
We’re setting the record straight that mail-in voting is safe, accessible and
secure. If you agree, give $10 or more to help us fight back against the Trump
administration's efforts to ban mail-in voting:

— Voting Rights Fund Team
Voting Rights Fund wasn’t created just to defend voting rights — we elect the
leaders who will expand and protect them. Our aim is to keep our operational
costs as low as possible so a majority of our funds go toward doing the work
that needs to be done. That means building a national bench of lawmakers who
will fight tooth and nail to expand access to the ballot box and protect our
right to vote at every level of government.
