Former Republican Speaker Glen Casada and his top aide and co-conspirator were supposed to report to federal prison for ripping off Tennessee taxpayers. Now they're skipping down the sidewalk free and feeling fine, mocking those who prosecuted them for their crimes.
Why? Corrupt Donald Trump just handed them unconditional pardons. No justice - just a pardon for political corruption.

Here's what they did: Casada & Co. defrauded Tennessee through a state-funded legislative mailer scheme. They were convicted on more than a dozen public corruption charges. Justice was ready to be served.
Until Trump, a personal fan of misusing public office for his own financial gain, stepped in and prevented justice.
This sums up the MAGA movement: break the law, reward yourself and your allies, protect the corrupt, and blame everyone else. Trump again sends a crystal-clear message to Tennessee Republicans: You can cheat. You can steal from taxpayers. You can abuse your power. He’s got your back.
As long as you're loyal to Trump, you're untouchable.
We can't stop the President's pardons. But we CAN stop the culture of corruption that thrives in Tennessee Republican circles. We can elect Democratic leaders who actually hold people accountable for ripping off the state…who put Tennessee families ahead of party loyalty…who believe the rules apply to everyone.
