Dear John, Child predators belong behind bars, not back on our streets. Last week, Canada’s Supreme Court struck down mandatory minimum sentences for people convicted of possessing or accessing child sexual abuse material. The facts are appalling. Two men were caught with hundreds of photos and videos of children as young as three years old. One had 317 images — mostly girls between three and six. Another had hundreds of videos of children aged five to ten. Instead of upholding justice, the Court relied on imaginary scenarios to justify weaker sentences. And the Liberal government’s response? They ruled out using the Notwithstanding Clause to restore mandatory minimum sentences — demonstrating yet again their willingness to side with criminals instead of their victims. I will not stand for it. A Conservative government will use the Notwithstanding Clause to restore mandatory minimums for these horrific crimes and make sure predators stay where they belong: in prison. If you are able, please support my work <[link removed]> . Your contribution helps me push back against troubling policies like this. Thank you!
