Yesterday, a federal judge ruled that Donald Trump must release the emergency funding for SNAP — money that would help low-income families put food on the table.

But today, Trump immediately appealed that decision, trying once again to block those payments.

Let’s be clear: We’re not talking about large sums of money for families. We’re talking about a few hundred dollars that families rely on to feed their children — money that’s already sitting in the federal government’s reserve.

Donald Trump is using hunger relief as a bargaining chip. It’s despicable. It’s cruel. And it’s inhumane.

While Trump blocks help for families in need, he’s spending hundreds of millions building a ballroom. While he plays politics with food insecurity, his billionaire friends are getting richer — and children are going to bed hungry.

Enough is enough.

We need leaders in Washington who will never treat working families like leverage — leaders who believe that feeding our neighbors isn’t negotiable.

That’s the kind of leader I promise to be. But I can’t get there without your help.

Will you chip in today to help take me to Washington to fight back against Trump’s cruelty and stand up for every family struggling to make ends meet?
