That’s why I filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration for unlawfully undermining Maryland’s selection as the site of the new FBI headquarters in Greenbelt — a decision years in the making that would have brought transformative benefits to Prince George’s County.
Here’s what happened:
Maryland earned the new FBI headquarters through a fair and transparent selection process that took more than a decade. After years of bipartisan work, the Greenbelt site was lawfully selected in 2023 as the best fit for the Bureau’s security, cost, and mission needs.
Then, without warning, the Trump administration ignored Congress and is now attempting to redirect over $1 billion in funding to a 30-year-old building that won't properly accommodate the FBI.
Maryland followed the rules. We invested time and millions of dollars in securing this project. And now, the Trump administration is trying to rewrite the rules in plain sight.
We’re not standing for it.
