The government shutdown in Washington is officially the longest federal shutdown in American history. While the American people suffer, Republicans are allowing this chaos to drag on in their blind loyalty to President Trump.

But let me be very clear: Even as the federal government shutdown drags on, our local government will not stop working.

We will continue working together to move Los Angeles forward, and to make real progress to pave the way for generations of future Angelenos to come.

I will not stop fighting for Angelenos from all walks of life, but in order to do so, I need to hear from you:
