John,
The gerrymandered map North Carolina Republicans forced through last month is a disgraceful abuse of power.
Because of their actions, North Carolina’s congressional map now favors Republicans in 11 of the 14 districts. This is in a state where registered Democrats outnumber registered Republicans.
And as recently as 2022, North Carolina’s congressional delegation was an even 7-7 split.
The extreme bias now in North Carolina’s map is a direct result of Trump’s rabid attempts to steal every congressional seat he can in order to hold onto power and insulate himself from accountability. North Carolina Republicans were all too eager to jump on board and sell out their constituents with this extreme power grab.
Look, all of this can seem overwhelming at times. But this is an issue that the vast majority of Americans agree upon. In fact, three out of four Americans think gerrymandering is unfair, and nearly 70% think it should be illegal. As Republicans try to make our democracy less and less fair, our movement to fight back is growing — and when we organize together, we can make sure the people behind these schemes face a real, undeniable backlash.
Together, we can guarantee that craven politicians like these Republicans face the music. There will be fierce legal challenges, and it’s our role to ensure voters know what they’ve been up to when it comes time to vote.
Pitch in to help the NDRC meet this moment in North Carolina, Texas, Missouri, and wherever Republicans attempt to wrest power from the people next. [[link removed]]

This fight isn’t just about lines on a map — it’s about protecting the voices of voters who deserve to have representation in a healthy, strong democracy.
