When Republicans control our Ballot Board, they rig the language in their favor.

That’s not mudslinging, Friend. It’s a fact.

Two years ago, Frank LaRose campaigned heavily on Issue 1 — a ballot initiative that would require Ohio constitutional amendments to garner 60% support from voters — all so he could block a constitutional amendment that protected abortion access.

Ohio voters defeated this power grab fair and square in August 2023, three months before voters would vote on the amendment to protect abortion access. But with three months to go, LaRose and his party knew the only way they could possibly defeat the abortion amendment was to muddy up the ballot language — so they did.

When they were unsuccessful in 2023, LaRose and his party bosses used this tactic again in 2024 to confuse voters about redistricting reform, and they bragged about this voter manipulation when it worked.

Friend, that’s Ohio Republicans’ playbook: When they’re on the verge of defeat, they’ll rewrite the ballot language, deceive voters, and do whatever it takes to move the goalpost in their favor. We deserve better.

Allison Russo is running to be the principled Secretary of State Ohio deserves. From ensuring clear ballot language, to cutting through the red tape that inhibits us from making our voices heard, she’s ready to run this office with integrity — but she needs your help.
