Elon Musk is on track to become the world’s first “trillionaire”: a new concept so absurd that when I typed it on my phone, autocorrect changed it to “nrillionaire” which is nonsense—but so is the notion that we have trillionaires while millions struggle to have basic healthcare!

In light of this news, here’s what I think we should do and it shouldn’t be controversial to say this: 

Tax the billionaires (and trillionaires). Use the revenue to pay for universal healthcare for every American.

It’s that simple.

When I tell people that I am running for Congress to fight—and win—for the working class, many folks say they’ve “heard that before.” But unlike some career politicians, this isn’t just talk for me. 

I come from a working class immigrant family. My mother worked as a night shift nurse for 25 years. I am in this to make real change. And I am not ashamed to say what I believe and what I will do if elected:

1. Tax the super wealthy and lower taxes on the middle class
2. Fight for Medicare for All and wipe away medical debt
3. Raise the federal minimum wage to a living wage and index to inflation

It’s past time for Democrats to step up and fight for what we believe in and what people need. There is something deeply, deeply wrong when one person can extract so much wealth that they are worth more than some developed nations.

It’s time to force Musk and his ilk to pay their fair share.

I know that this agenda is what America needs right now, and the people in my district are demanding this change. But my wealthy MAGA opponent is self-funding his campaign to the tune of millions to defeat us. Can you chip in $25 or more to stand with me and fight for a fair economy?
