Harbor Freight Tools for Schools Winner

$50k for CTE at Sheridan High School

A massive win for Wyoming CTE! Sheridan High School welding teacher Clayton Christensen received a $50,000 prize from the Harbor Freight Tools for Schools program. Superintendent Megan Degenfelder and UW College of Education Dean Jenna Shim joined program students and representatives from Harbor Freight to present the check. This award highlights the vital role skilled trades play in our communities and will directly benefit the welding program's equipment upgrades.


Two Additional Schools Earn Purple Star School Designation

Two additional schools have been designated Wyoming Purple Star Schools for their commitment to supporting military-connected students: East High School and Anderson Elementary in Laramie County #1. Superintendent Megan Degenfelder and other WDE representatives joined the schools during a ceremony to celebrate the honor.

Connecting Industry & Education Forums Continue

Wheatland and Saratoga were the next locations for Superintendent Megan Degenfelder's Connecting Industry & Education Forums. The events help connect the needs of local businesses to shape education in Wyoming.


Future of Youth Development Summit in Washington D.C.

Superintendent Megan Degenfelder spoke as part of a panel at The Future of Youth Development: Vision to Action Summit in Washington, D.C. The event brought together state and local leaders, intermediary organizations, practitioners, philanthropy, and most importantly, youth voices, for a day of engaging stories, collaborative discussions, and expert presentations to improve Out-of-school time (OST) programs.

Superintendent Megan Degenfelder honored the 2026 Wyoming Teacher of the Year, Michelle Roundy of Jackson Hole High School, and the 2025-26 Wyoming District Teachers of the Year at an event at the WYO Sports Ranch in Casper.

Wyoming Farm to School Day was a huge success! Many districts from across the state served a lunch that included locally sourced proteins and produce, offering a healthy and nutritious meal that showcases our state's agricultural heritage!

The WDE Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing Team hosted a get-together for all students with hearing loss, teachers, and families at the Green Acres Corn Maze in Casper. Events like these help students make new friends and enjoy activities with their families.
