John,
I’m still celebrating the results of Tuesday’s elections. Across our country, voters resoundingly chose Democrats to serve their states and communities. The wins we saw from New York to California to Georgia to Pennsylvania proved that Democrats do have a winning vision and message.
A clear through-line resonated nationwide: affordability and kitchen table issues . Our Democratic candidates, no matter where they were, no matter how they fit into our big-tent party, met voters at the kitchen table – not the gilded ballroom. [[link removed]]
* Abigail Spanberger, Mikie Sherrill, and Zohran Mamdani got the most attention and shared a universal focus on bringing down costs – though they run the spectrum from moderate to liberal.
* Less-publicized races saw the same results. In Georgia , Peter Hubbard and Alicia Johnson became the first non-federal statewide Democrats to be elected in nearly 20 years because they aggressively highlighted soaring energy costs under the state’s all-Republican Public Service Commission. Mississippi Dems broke the Republican supermajority in their state by flipping two State Senate seats and one State House seat. The message to Trump and Republicans was clear: MAGA policies are a failure . Americans recognize the failure to deliver lower costs and a better life for working families.
* Exit polls also show that Americans are broadly dissatisfied [[link removed]] with the direction of the country.
* The American public blames Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans for the government shutdown by a 10-point margin [[link removed]] .
* Locally, our recent Town Hall Tour revealed the same feelings here in our state where sizable crowds turned out to share their frustration with the current situation.

In Oklahoma, we have reason to hope: our candidates are already utilizing the same strategy .
* Across our state, more Democrats are stepping up to run than the previous three election cycles. Not only will more voters have more options in more communities, these candidates are high-quality and they are strategic.
* Through our revamped state and county operations, we are already doing the groundwork to organize and motivate voters to turnout in record numbers next November.
* OK Dems activity is at the highest level we’ve seen in years. More counties are organized than the past 5 years and urban, rural, and suburban Democrats are regularly gathering together for meetings, happy hours and coffees.
* We are staying focused on the most important issues: lowering costs and improving life for working families.
Mark my words, we WILL flip seats in Oklahoma in 2026 . It won’t happen by magic, though. It’s going to take all of us working together. Whether you’re frustrated, angry, or hopeful, please channel that energy into action. Support a candidate as a donor or volunteer. PS - In one more bit of good news, Democrats are increasing our lead in generic ballot polling to +8 (50-42) [[link removed]] — the best generic ballot for Democrats in the NBC survey since 2018.
