The Dangers of Vaping: What Kids Need to Know

Wednesday, July 15 | noon Central

Despite the alarming emergence of a severe respiratory illness and other serious health risks, vaping remains prevalent among our youth. How can professionals effectively educate parents and kids of all ages about the dangers associated with e-cigarettes when target marketing says otherwise? Join David Sherrell of FCD Prevention Works, Heidi Wallace of Hazelden Betty Ford in Oregon and Washington, and Butler Center for Research scientist Kate Gliske to take a closer look at how e-cigarettes work, why they’re marketed at youth and why these products pose a particular risk as a gateway to nicotine addiction. Special focus: Learn strategies to help parents communicate effectively with children and adolescents about making healthy choices.
