------------------------------------------------------------
Israel’s war against Hamas is the epicenter of a global war for the heart of our world. It is a spiritual war between the powers of good and evil.
Hamas continues to hold bodies in Gaza in violation of the 20-point agreement brokered by Washington last month. These incude the bodies of non-Jews and non-Israelis. Hamas and its allies not only killed Jews when they invaded Israel on 7th October 2023 - they also slaughtered non-Jews and non-Israelis who happened to be in southern Israel at the time.
The deaths of these foreigners on Israeli soil symbolizes the universality of Israel.
Whether physical or spiritual, an existential attack on Israel is an existential attack on the Jewish roots of our Western civilization.
This was illustrated this week when the body of Joshua Luito Mollel, 21, an agricultural student from Tanzania, was handed over to Israel. He was the eldest of four siblings living in Tanzania. A student in an agricultural internship program, Joshua was in Israel to learn from the Jewish people. He arrived in Israel just 19 days before the brutal Hamas attack. Mollel was working in the cowshed at Kibbutz Nahal Oz on the morning of Oct. 7, 2023, when he was murdered by Hamas terrorists and his body was taken to Gaza.
"An existential attack on Israel is an existential attack on the Jewish roots of our Western civilization."
Another example is Rintalak Suttisak (also referred to as Sudthisak Rinthalak), a farm worker from Thailand. Rintalak is the other deceased foreign national still held by Gaza terrorists, along with five Israelis—Meny Godard, Lt. Hadar Goldin, Master Sgt. Ran Gvili, Dror Or and Israeli-Argentinean dual national Lior Rudaeff.
On Tuesday Israel recovered the body of Israeli-American Itay Chen ([link removed]) , a staff sergeant in the IDF, whom Hamas terrorists killed in battle at Kibbutz Nir Oz on Oct. 7.
The war that Israel is fighting with radical Islamist forces on its borders is also reflected on the global scale. For decades, the West has been at war with the red-green-brown alliance: left-wing, Islamist and far-right radicals aligning in their assault on the West.
This week this alliance won a victory when Zohran Mamdani was elected as Mayor of New York City. Mamdani is a Twelver Shi’ite, anti-Zionist and likely antisemite ([link removed]) , but he is not an Islamist. Hudson Institute’s Zineb Riboua draws ([link removed]) parallels between Mamdani and the Algerian Revolution. She argues that Mamdani channels a Third World paradigm between exploiter and the exploited. “What Mamdani represents is not a new movement but the return of an older sensibility that America itself once resisted and outlasted,” she explains. “His stances on housing, policing, and Palestine channel global anti-imperial heritage into American realities. The landlord morphs into the colonizer, the tenant into the colonized.”
"For decades, the West has been at war with the red-green-brown alliance: left-wing, Islamist and far-right radicals aligning in their assault on the West."
At the same time, the deepening rift on the American right was exemplified by the controversy this week surrounding the statement issued by the President of the Heritage Foundation defending Tucker Carlson, who recently spewed his hatred of Christian Zionism and gave a platform to the antisemitic rants of neo-Nazi influencer Nick Fuentes. Jonathan Tobin comments:
“The Heritage Foundation think tank—one of the cornerstones of the modern conservative movement—seemed to be engaging in a civil war over first its president’s defense of Carlson and then the way he tried to walk back that stand at a town meeting ([link removed]) of its employees—something that spoke volumes about the way hostility to Israel and the Jews seemed to be simmering among some of its younger staff members. In response to this, some Jewish organizations and others that had been part of Heritage’s important efforts to support Israel, as well as to combat antisemitism via its “Project Esther,” ([link removed]) decided that they had no alternative but to resign and disassociate themselves from the group.”
At the end of the day, all around the world a battle is taking place for the identity of the West.
The fact is that the nations will only be blessed when they bless the Jewish people. The Gentile church will only flourish when it remains engrafted into the olive tree of which the Jewish people are the natural branches (Romans 11).
We must acknowledge that the core values of Western civilization – freedom, dignity, responsibility and the sanctity of life – are derived from the Jewish roots of our Western culture.
Criticism of Israel is fine. But hatred of Jews is not. Antisemitism has no place in our culture. If we curse the Jewish people and cut ourselves off from our Jewish roots, we will die. If we remain connected to God’s covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, we will live.
This week, pray for the nations. Pray that the Lord will “destroy the shroud that enfolds all peoples, the sheet that covers all nations” (Isaiah 25:7). Pray that the church will remain faithful to its calling as “heirs together with Israel, members together of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 3). Continue to pray that the bodies of all the remaining hostages in Gaza will be found and released. Pray for the coming of the Prince of Peace, who alone can bring true shalom.
A turning point in Gaza: The fall of Hamas begins
Oded Ailam (JCFA): In September 2025, Gaza reached a critical turning point when hundreds of thousands of civilians defied Hamas’s orders and followed Israeli evacuation instructions instead. Hamas stands more isolated than at any time since its founding.

Why Young Activists Believe Palestinian Freedom Requires Israeli Destruction
Miriam Haart (MEF): At nearly every pro-Palestine rally on college campuses, protestors chant, “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.” Many students insist it is just a call for freedom, not a call for violence. They neither hear nor understand what they are saying—that Palestinian liberation requires the elimination of Israel and its nine million citizens. This is not just poor messaging; it is the logical endpoint of an ideology that has captured the minds of a generation, and it reveals something troubling: Young activists have been taught to see Israeli and Palestinian existence as mutually exclusive. In their framework, one people can only thrive if the other is erased. It is the Zero-Sum Trap.

Gotham’s Red-Green Takeover: The Mamdani Experiment Begins
Gregg Roman, Jim Hanson (MEF): “The votes are counted. The experiment begins. New Yorkers handed the keys to the city to Zohran Mamdani. He ran as a Democrat, but his victory functions as a Trojan horse. It represents a coordinated takeover of city government by a Red-Green alliance: a fusion of his Democratic Socialist agenda with a network of stealth Islamist allies who funded his rise.”

New York Battle of Hattin: Does Mamdani’s Election Portend the Fall of the West?
Sagiv Asulin (JCFA): Mamdani’s victory is comparable to Salah ad-Din’s Battle of Hattin. In 1187, the Muslim commander, by guile, defeated the Crusader army and created a real turning point on the road to the Muslim conquest of the Land of Israel.

Kazakhstan joining Abraham Accords in ‘major step forward,’ Trump says
JNS: Kazakhstan is joining the Abraham Accords, a set of agreements between Israel and Arab states, which U.S. President Donald Trump began brokering nearly five years ago. "This is a major step forward in building bridges across the world," the president said. "Today, more nations are lining up to embrace peace and prosperity through my Abraham Accords."

** SCRIPTURE FOR THE WEEK:
------------------------------------------------------------
** Ephesians 2:11-18
------------------------------------------------------------
^11 Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called “uncircumcised” by those who call themselves “the circumcision” (which is done in the body by human hands)— ^12 remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. ^13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.
^14 For He himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, ^15 by setting aside in His flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in Himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, ^16 and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which He put to death their hostility. ^17 He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. ^18 For through Him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.
