We are still celebrating Tuesday’s sweeping victories. In this year that has brought so many challenges and failures of government, this showed what’s possible when people come together and vote for change.
In California, voters stood up for fairness and democracy—saying yes to Prop 50, Governor Gavin Newsom’s Election Rigging Response Act —and against the discriminatory and destabilizing redistricting efforts we’re fighting right here in Texas as well as across the country.
That victory was the result of months of organizing and determination from people who refuse to let Trump’s redistricting power grab silence communities or dilute minority representation.
And we’re not stopping now.
Any moment now, a panel of three federal judges will decide whether Texas’ newly redrawn congressional map can be used in the 2026 elections. That ruling will determine whether Texans get the fair representation we deserve—or face another election under a map drawn to drown out the voices of Texans. Whatever happens, this fight is likely heading to the Supreme Court next.
That’s why Lizzie is joining Governor Gavin Newsom and leaders from across Texas tomorrow in Houston for a redistricting rally—and we want you to be there.
