Liberty’s first president EM Forster once described our work as “the fight that
is never done”.

There are many threats to rights today. We refuse to accept that it’s ever
acceptable to lock people in immigration detention centres indefinitely. We
refuse to accept that the Government should be able to spy on all of us, all the
time, without suspicion of a crime. And we refuse to accept the creation of a
‘hostile environment’ for migrants at any human cost.

Our campaigns and groundbreaking legal cases are only possible thanks to the

don’t receive Government funding. This is crucial to everything we do – it lets
us speak uncomfortable truths and fearlessly stand up to power.
