Hey JOHN,

Trump’s Education Secretary didn’t dispel any doubts in their plans: “It confirms what the President has said: the federal Department of Education is unnecessary.”

That’s from Linda McMahon, who’s overseeing Trump’s plan to shut down the Department of Education from the inside.

During the government shutdown, the Trump administration laid off more than 460 employees — including people who enforce civil rights, protect students with disabilities, and oversee billions in federal funding for our schools.

Now, McMahon says this proves that schools can function without the Department of Education. But what’s really happening is that students with disabilities, survivors of harassment, and low-income schools are being left defenseless.

This isn’t about efficiency. It’s about dismantling public education, piece by piece.

Educated We Stand is fighting back. We’re building local power, electing pro-public education leaders, and exposing the extremists trying to end public education as we know it.

But to keep that fight going, we need you with us.

Can you chip in today to help us defend our public schools from Trump’s plan to destroy them?
