Inclusion Barnet services
BVMH
Current service
Barnet Voice for Mental Health is still up and running in the Coronavirus crisis, however, we are operating a bit differently in order to follow government guidelines and do our best to protect our users, volunteers and staff.
We will be providing:
- One to one telephone, video-call peer support and signposting for people in Barnet in order to help people find the information, help and support they need at this time.
- Our Tuesday Peer Support group will continue virtually via zoom video call.
Unfortunately we’ve had to suspend all face-to-face contact until further notice, this means Space 2B, our Peer-Led Support Group, our Discharge and Recovery Group and our Inpatient Outreach Sessions are not currently taking place in their usual format

Touchpoint
Our Touchpoint Service is still up and running!
During the coronavirus crisis, Touchpoint is currently providing the following types of

1) Information and Signposting
If you need help to find support for anything from accessing food and medication, to
tackling money issues or isolation, please contact the Touchpoint team using the
details below and we will do our best to help. You don’t need a referral to access our
‘Information and Signposting’ service.
2) 1-2-1 Support to Access Services
Although we can’t meet face-to-face, we are still offering our core Touchpoint
Service: 1-2-1 support to help people access the services and resources they need.
If you think this might be right for you, please fill in and return a referral form which
you can download from our website.
3) One-off or Regular Emotional Support
We are currently offering one-off or regular check-ins with our trained Volunteer
Mentors. If you would like to book a half-hour slot, or just find out more, please get in
touch with us using the contact details below.

Benefits Advice Service
Our Benefits Advice Service, part of Touchpoint, is for people who live or work in Barnet; feel themselves to be disabled by a physical impairment, mental health issues, learning disability or long term condition; and are finding it difficult to navigate the benefits system or applications process.
We offer practical advice and support to disabled people around all aspects of benefits. The aim of our service is to:
- Provide you with information about the benefits system and application process
- Help you to understand which benefits you may be able to claim
- Work with you to apply for benefits you are entitled to

Take some time to slow down your mind, learn how to focus your thoughts and acknowledge your feelings. This session will put you in touch with your mind and body, helping you to notice any areas of tension, worry or distraction and inviting you to relax.
Marissa is a dramatherapist and mental health practitioner. She runs a creative mental health education service provider, Open Words, which aims to teach people about mental health so they can prevent and understand mental health issues.

Offering hot meals up to twice a week, shopping, prescription collection, befriending (telephone), craft packs (puzzle books, knitting materials etc).
The Handyperson service can visit people in emergency situations to change light bulbs, replace smoke alarm batteries and to move furniture for hospital discharges.
They can provide an emergency one off food parcel to any vulnerable person in need.
