As someone who once relied on SNAP benefits as a single father working my way through college, I’m deeply upset about what’s happening right now. The government has millions of dollars at its disposal to prevent SNAP from drying up in just days — but Republicans are withholding the funds and using this lifesaving program as a political bargaining chip.

This isn’t a game. These are real people who deserve better. We all deserve better.
