Dear Jack,

I hope you and your family are staying safe and healthy during these difficult times. I'll be sending weekly Bulletins so that you have all the latest updates you need.

2020-2021 School Year

Right now, many Virginia parents are understandably frustrated and confused about the 2020-2021 school year. I know that LCPS and PWCS are trying to address the concerns of parents and teachers right now as best they can. LCPS put out guidance on Friday regarding what hybrid and distanced instruction may look like in the fall, which you can read here. The Prince William County School Board will be meeting on Wednesday, July 15th at 6pm to discuss school reopening. You can sign up to participate at this link.

PPP Loan Applications Reopened

The federal Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) has resumed taking applications from small businesses affected by COVID-19. Applications will be open through August 8th, 2020. You can learn more and apply here.

Phase 3 Guidelines

Virginia is now in Phase 3 of the reopening process. Governor Northam stressed that masks or facial coverings are still required indoors, and that bar seating is prohibited at bars and restaurants. You can read more about Phase 3 guidelines here.

General Assembly Appointments

I'm proud to announce that I've been appointed to several boards and councils recently, including:

Northern Virginia Transportation Commission

Board of Veterans Services

Small Business Commission

Substance Abuse Services Council

I look forward to working on these diverse issues to benefit my constituents and all Virginians.
