# [#]John,

With SNAP funding uncertain due to the federal shutdown and possible reductions ahead, I am proud to announce that my administration has coordinated a citywide effort to assist Philadelphia residents who are impacted.

My administration’s One Philly (SNAP) Support Plan is a $14 million effort to help nearly 500,000 Philadelphians who rely on SNAP and are facing disruptions in their food access.

Families across Philadelphia live with significant challenges every day; facing food insecurity should never be one of them. That is what makes SNAP so important. Access to SNAP benefits has been an invaluable tool in our fight against hunger and food insecurity. This is a moment of urgent need.

To meet the need, in partnership with City Council President Kenyatta Johnson, the Commonwealth, and our philanthropic partners, we have come together to provide immediate support:

* $4 million to expand food distribution citywide
* Fresh produce at 43 schools through the One Philly Produce Project
* Emergency rental assistance for furloughed federal workers
* Support for small food retailers to keep shelves stocked
* Payment deferrals for city residents who are federal employees

While this plan cannot fully replace SNAP benefits, it ensures families, workers, and small businesses have help during this crisis.

One Philadelphia means we take care of each other. We will keep fighting for the full restoration of federal benefits, and we will not allow our neighbors to go hungry.

If you need assistance, visit phila.gov/food [phila.gov/food] or call 311.

One Philly, A United City.

— Mayor Parker
