John,
We challenged you to hold the line and keep CT blue this election cycle. You didn’t just do that, you moved the line altogether.
Before Election Day, Democrats led 73 of Connecticut’s 169 cities and towns. Because of you, that number is now 102. Flipping 29 towns isn’t just a win. It’s a wave.
We saw a surge in voter turnout, jumping 8% statewide. In the communities that organized and started early, the turnout was even higher. In New Britain, turnout climbed 16%. In Milford, 12%. And in Norwich, an incredible 32%!
And that’s not all. Democrats were fired up, organized, and delivered landslide wins across the state.
- Mayors in Stamford, Danbury, and New Haven won re-election by commanding margins.
-
Westport will have a Democratic First Selectman for the first time in 12 years.
- Farmington’s Town Council Chair will be a Democrat for the first time in 70 years.
-
And in Killingly, a town Trump once won by 20 points, Democrats just took the majority on the Town Council.
It’s thanks to the efforts of our supporters like you, John, we notched these wins across Connecticut.
So today, take a moment to feel proud and take a well-earned deep breath. This is what people-powered progress looks like!
Thanks,
Adrienne Billings-Smith
Vice Chair
