For months, Defend Our Courts worked nonstop to rally Democrats to come to Pennsylvania’s aid in this past Tuesday’s Supreme Court retention election. Because of supporters like you, we grew to become one of the largest Democratic organizations involved in that race.

All of that hard work and contributions from our nearly 100,000 donors paid off—the three Democrats on PA’s supreme court won massive victories, with each receiving a staggering 60% of the vote.

Because of you, Defend Our Courts was able to:

• Place six-figure TV buys that ran non-stop in the run-up to E-day
• Counteract GOP disinformation with direct mail to over 200k voters and 1.2 million texts
• Make over 13 million digital ad impressions, encouraging voters to vote yes
• Knock over 100,000 doors across Philadelphia

And a closer look at the numbers today shows the impact we had:

In Philadelphia, where we concentrated a majority of our turnout efforts via canvassing, hyper-targeted digital ads, and TV cable buys, the Democrats won with an astronomical 86% share of the vote—by far the largest margin of any county in the state.

This margin alone erased any hope Trump and MAGA billionaires had of buying this court and sent a statement across the country that the Democrats are back.

And we spent every last penny we had to make this possible.

After seeing the success we had, we want to carry this winning formula forward. With upcoming Supreme Court elections in other key swing states like Michigan, Arizona, and Georgia in 2026, there are still courts that need defending, and the stakes will be just as high as PA’s retention election.

With an expanded map and three elections at play on the same exact day, we have little time to soak in this victory—we’re getting back to work.

But to be frank, we first need to pay off the remaining debt we owe and make our staff whole before we can start building for 2026.
