Friend, when I think about my kids’ future, I think about our energy future here in Colorado.

We’ve got a few important priorities to cover: Clean energy sources we can rely on for generations to come. Creating and keeping good-paying jobs. And keeping our utility bills manageable. As governor, my plan will deliver for Coloradans.

As the Trump administration denies climate change and undermines our shift to a clean energy future, our state needs to keep leading this transition. These are just a few examples of how we’ll do that:

• 🔋 Leading in solar and wind: As governor, I’ll engage with local governments, accelerate siting projects, and support these options in a timely way — especially because right now, they’re the lowest-cost sources of energy for our state.
• 🔋 Adopting safe energy storage: By promoting innovative financing tools and encouraging utilities to broaden battery use cases, we can defer some more expensive upgrades during this urgent transition. We’ll work hard to create a more adaptable, resilient grid with lower energy costs for consumers.
• 🔋 Shifting to electric vehicles: As governor, we will continue to support this important transition and support consumers in making the switch.
• 🔋 Blazing new trails with geothermal: My administration will establish a Geothermal Development Authority to coordinate and support activities across the state. We’ll help everyone make the most of this new frontier, especially in rural Colorado, where there is great promise for geothermal energy development in communities where coal plants are closed.

I could keep going, but my point is this: Colorado will continue to lead the way for the entire country on clean energy.
