Hello Fellow Climate Activists,
India is the world’s most populous nation, the largest democracy, the fastest-growing major economy, and the third-largest emitter of greenhouse gases. In this talk, Prof. Ranjit Deshmukh will examine India’s critical challenges in meeting its rapidly growing energy demand, ensuring universal energy access, and adapting to climate change, as well as the significant opportunities to address these challenges through the deployment of clean energy technologies.
Professor Ranjit Deshmukh Bio:
Ranjit is an Associate Professor in the Environmental Studies program and the Bren School of Environmental Science and Management at the University of California Santa Barbara. He is also a faculty scientist at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. At UCSB, he leads the Clean Energy Transformation Lab, is a principal investigator with the Environmental Markets Lab ( emLab) and the 2035 Initiative.
