Email from Trisha Calvarese for Congress John, On Election day, rather than helping her embattled GOP colleagues who got blown out across the country, Lauren Boebert was doomscrolling on Twitter. Among the things she posted was a tweet agreeing with a GOP operative who said that the left wants them dead.  I don’t want Lauren Boebert dead. I don’t want anyone on the right dead. I disagree with her on fundamentally every issue but I believe that she has a right to believe in what she believes. Now, I believe our ideas are better and I will fight to ensure ours win out over hers but we will accomplish this via political means not through violence. Boebert, on the other hand, sees violence as the key to attaining her aims. She helped orchestrate January 6th. She’s called for the creation of a “holy army” to wipe out the left in Colorado. And calls Democrats Reptiles and Jihadis, and Trans people demons. I’d say she is the pot calling the kettle black, but no one on the left is calling for violence. Boebert has invented a fake narrative that we want violence and people dead so that she can in turn justify violence against us. As a student of philosopher Thich Nhat Hanh, I believe wholeheartedly that spiraling American political violence calls for radical peace. Stopping the epidemic of political violence in this country starts with unseating Lauren Boebert. She is in Congress because of just 546 votes and when I challenged her in 2024 I had the best performance a Democrat has ever had in this district. Now I’m back to finish the job.
