Hey team,
MJ will be the first to tell you, her favorite part of running for Senate is getting out of the office and onto the road. Not just because she loves seeing the beautiful scenery across Texas, or sampling the local treats (although yes, she loves that too), but because hearing from Texans is what motivates her to keep up the fight.
It is because of contributions and support from you that MJ can hit the road, so I wanted to share with you what she's been up to these last few months. (Can you donate to help us keep it up?)
MJ spent Independence Day in the Hill Country, at the annual Fredericksburg Fourth of July parade. Afterward, she and her family enjoyed a picnic with plenty of local treats to go around -- the highlight was over a dozen King Ranch Chicken Casseroles.
Then, MJ traveled to El Paso where she visited the Casa del Refugiado -- a hospitality site where migrants can stay and receive food and shelter once they've processed through immigration authorities. She met families, many with young children, fleeing violence back home and in search of the American dream. In her own words: "As a mother, I know I would do anything to keep my children safe too."
She enjoyed conversation with voters at the ML Edwards & Co General Store in Mount Vernon. They covered a range of topics and priorities over their coffee, like making vocational training and community college more accessible.
And in Dallas, MJ received a warm welcome at a Meet & Greet at the adorable Flower Child Restaurant.

MJ hosted a health care roundtable in the Rio Grande Valley where she heard from folks about their concerns of the costs of prescription medicine and the risk of losing coverage. But they also made time for some good food and even a little dancing at the Hidalgo County Summer Bash!
And last week, she made her way back to the Hill Country. First, she got to talk with voters at a Meet & Greet in New Braunfels. Later, she joined the Hays County Democratic Party for their LBJ Birthday Party where she met her littlest supporter yet!
Traveling from city to city throughout Texas lets MJ hear from Texans about their priorities and the issues that affect their day to day lives -- issues like the rising costs of health care, hurricanes and flooding exacerbated by climate change, and the student loan debt crisis keeping young people from investing in their futures. And your contributions make it all possible.
Pitch in today so we have the resources we need for MJ to stay on the road, talking to Texans and spreading her message across the state.
