Dear Friends,

When I asked fellow South Texans whether they were concerned about rising health care premiums, 95% of you said “YES”.

If Donald Trump and Republicans continue to stonewall, insurance premiums will double in January because of expiring health care tax credits. The tax credits are often the only thing that allow millions of Americans to afford a doctor’s visit, care in an emergency, or prescriptions for themselves or their kids.

Without these tax credits, 128,000 constituents across our district will be forced to pay more for their health care premiums.  
 
Many people in our district have already received notices that their insurance rates are increasing substantially. South Texas cannot afford this extreme price hike on health care. I am fighting to permanently extend these tax credits so South Texans families will not have to worry about paying more than twice as much for healthcare.
