*NOTICE OF RULEMAKING*
Notice is hereby given that the Superintendent of Insurance will receive comments concerning proposed amendments to Rule Chapter 440 – Maine Workers’ Compensation Residual Mechanism.
The purpose of this rule amendment is to provide a mechanism for winding down the workers’ compensation residual pool. A copy of the proposed amendments is at [link removed] [ [link removed] ].
The amendments are proposed in accordance with 24-A M.R.S. §§ 212 and 2386(5), and P.L. 1995, ch. 289, §19(2). Primary sources of information relied upon by the Bureau of Insurance in developing the proposed amendments include Bureau staff’s professional judgment.
All interested persons are invited to submit written comments. Written comments must be received no later than December 19, 2025 at 4:30 p.m. and should be addressed to: Karma Lombard, Maine Bureau of Insurance, 34 State House Station, Augusta, Maine 04333, or
