Pesticides in My Beer?

Dear Green American,

What if we told you that your favorite beer might contain harmful pesticides like glyphosate and 2,4-D—chemicals linked to cancer, reproductive health problems, and environmental destruction?

Unfortunately, that's the reality for most conventional beers today, including those made by industry giant Anheuser-Busch InBev, maker of Budweiser, Stella Artois, Corona, and dozens of other popular brands.

Here's the problem: The barley and hops used to brew beer are often grown with toxic pesticides that:

  • Threaten human health with links to cancer and hormone disruption

  • Devastate pollinator populations (bees alone contribute $34 billion annually to our economy)

  • Poison our soil, water, and ecosystems

  • Put farmers and farmworkers at risk of exposure to dangerous chemicals

But here's the opportunity: As the world's largest beer companies, Anheuser-Busch and its competitors have the power to transform agricultural practices across their entire supply chain. When major corporations call for pesticide-free ingredients, farmers respond—creating a ripple effect that protects millions of acres.

We're calling on Anheuser-Busch and competitors to:

  • Make a time-bound commitment to eliminate harmful pesticides from their barley and hops supply chains

  • Work with suppliers to adopt integrated pest management and organic farming practices

  • Support farmers in their transition to pesticide-free, organic farming

  • Be transparent about their policies and progress toward these goals

Leading retailers like Walmart, Kroger, and Whole Foods have already established pollinator protection policies. It's time for Anheuser-Busch to step up too.

SIGN THE PETITION: Tell Anheuser-Busch to Get Pesticides Out of Beer

Beer should be about celebration, community, and good times—not toxic chemicals that harm our health and planet. Join thousands of other consumers demanding that Anheuser-Busch and other major brewers brew a better future.

Together, we can create a world where every beer is safe for people and the planet.

Sign the petition today and share it with friends who care about clean food and a healthy environment.
