AI overviews have been claiming fake imagery shows the Huntingdon train attack, at a time when the public deserves correct information.

Grok told users one AI-generated image (right image) of an injured man lying in a carriage “appears to be a genuine photo”.

Google Lens’s AI overview even claimed one image (left image) was a still from a BBC News article about the incident - there’s no evidence it was.

No, the government isn’t giving £1,000 grants to new parents

Videos on social media claim Sir Keir Starmer announced a “New Life Grant” giving parents £1,000 for every baby born from January 2026.

That’s false. No such policy exists. 

The UK won’t ban central heating after 9pm

Alarmist videos online claim people will be fined for using their central heating after 9pm. 

We can confirm (thankfully) this is false.

Official child obesity figures count thousands who aren’t clinically obese

New data obtained by Full Fact shows that official NHS England figures use a broader definition of obesity in children than doctors do.

This means tens of thousands of children are counted as obese even though they aren’t clinically obese.
