From November 10th to the 19th, the third session of negotiations for a UN Framework Convention on International Tax Cooperation will take place in Nairobi. Analyzing three key issues for the negotiations, this brief looks at the need to ensure a fair allocation of taxing rights, reform the corporate tax system, and build a coherent and inclusive multilateral framework.

On the Road to Nairobi: What the Upcoming Session of the UN Tax Convention Negotiations Must Deliver

Ahead of the third session of negotiations, GATJ and its members Tax and Fiscal Justice Asia (TAFJA), Red de Justicia Fiscal de América Latina y el Caribe (RJFALC), and Tax Justice Network Africa (TJNA), discussed what is at stake and what Nairobi must deliver. Panelists outlined what to expect in each of the three workstreams of the negotiations, which include the Framework Convention and two early protocols, and shared regional perspectives on the negotiations.
