Hi team,

This week, Mary Gay has been sounding the alarm about a crisis that is hitting nearly 2 million Pennsylvanians: a lapse in SNAP benefits caused by GOP dysfunction in Congress.

Trump’s administration is only promising to pay half of SNAP benefits for November, leaving families scrambling for what to do next. And it took a judge FORCING him to do the right thing before he was willing to feed hungry Americans .

With no federal solution in sight, Governor Shapiro declared an emergency to unlock state funds for food banks. Mary Gay made sure people knew what was happening — and called this shutdown and lack of federal clarity around SNAP funds what it is: unnecessary cruelty.

We know what’s at stake — and we know this won’t be the last time Republican chaos hurts real people. That’s why Mary Gay is fighting, and it’s why we need to keep building a strong, prepared grassroots campaign behind her.

Thanks for being part of this work.
