We're now in the sixth week of the GOP's shutdown, friend – but I don't think President Trump cares about reopening the government at all.

Because he's throwing Great Gatsby-themed parties ... as troops and civil servants who protect the American people and our vital programs go unpaid.

He's flooding U.S. markets with 80,000 metric tons of beef from Argentina, on top of a promised $40 billion bailout to the foreign nation ... as ranchers in Colorado and across the country struggle to stay afloat.

He's demanding the Justice Dept. fork over $230 million for daring to investigate him ... as the average Colorado consumer comes to grips with the price tag on their health premiums doubling (or worse) in the new year.

And he's bulldozing the East Wing to build a $300 million (and growing) golden ballroom in its place ... as tens of millions of America's poorest kids and families are needlessly deprived of food for his party's political games.

Now more than ever, it seems like the only thing President Trump cares about is himself.

And the more he treats the executive mansion like his personal Palace of Versailles, the less working Coloradans can afford to wait for the solutions to our biggest problems to come from Washington.

As governor, protecting the well-being of every person who calls our state home will be my only priority: Because with a wannabe king in the White House who's entirely detached from reality, the solutions we actually need will only start here, with us, in Colorado.

But unlike the Oval Office's current occupant, I don't have billions of dollars to buy this race. That means I can't win without folks like you fighting alongside me.

So friend, can I please count on you to pitch in $5, $25 or anything you can spare to my campaign today? Together, I know we can make Colorado the beacon of hope against Trump's chaos that our nation desperately needs and make it the best state to live, work and raise a family.
