What the 2025 Budget Means for You
Dear Friend,
This past Tuesday the federal government released its 2025 budget. The recurring theme? Canadians should be prepared for sacrifice.
We think it’s important to be clear about who sacrifices and who profits.
In this budget, the government cut programs that helped Canadians insulate their homes to save on heating costs. It cancelled plans to cap pollution from the oil and gas industry. It’s pushing to expand fossil fuel production. And it’s turning its back on Canada’s obligations under the Paris Agreement.
Most Canadians are already stretched thin, and this budget does nothing to make life more affordable. It adds nothing new for co-op or non-market housing. Disability supports are still far too low. And small businesses are left out, while foreign corporations can collect billions in tax breaks. The people forced to sacrifice the most are the least able to afford it.
This is not “Canada Strong”.
This budget tells Canadians to accept less while powerful interests keep taking more. Greens refuse to accept that. When you give to the Green Party, you help us expose and share the truth of the 2025 federal budget, and build real momentum for a clean, fair future that puts people, and our planet, before profits. Will you give today to help make that possible?
