Tuesday was Election Day, and Democrats notched big victories in California, Virginia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and beyond.

In my home state, we passed Prop. 50 by an overwhelming majority of the vote, which will help us try to even the playing field with Republicans who are redrawing congressional maps in Texas and other states. And fight fire with fire.

Californians across the state made it clear that they will not stand by as Donald Trump tries to rig the next election before it begins.

This was a hugely successful night for Democrats, for voters, and for our democracy, and the message is clear:

Voters are tired of Trump and Republicans, they are ready for someone who will work tirelessly on affordability, and they want Democrats to fight relentlessly.

We worked hard leading up to these 2025 elections, and we should take a moment to celebrate our victories.

But we also can’t lose sight of the fact that we have less than a year until the midterm elections. And already, Trump is attacking voting rights on Truth Social, casting doubt on election security and election results.

It will take a lot of hard work to win again — but I know we can do it.
