America First Legal President Gene Hamilton to Speak on Immigration and Originalism 

WASHINGTON, D.C. – This Friday, November 7, at 9:00 a.m. ET, America First Legal President Gene Hamilton will speak on “Showcase Panel 2: Immigration and Originalism,” a featured panel at the Federalist Society’s 2025 National Lawyers Convention. 

As explained in the Federalist Society’s description of the panel: 

Experts will discuss cutting-edge issues in immigration law and ask how and whether originalism can help provide answers.

The panel will explore critical questions, including: 

• What do the tools of originalism teach us about significant immigration legal issues? For example, what was the President’s authority to remove aliens at the time of the Founding? 

• How much of immigration is left to the President versus Congress? 

• What can originalism tell us about immigration and due process?
