Hi there – it’s Jennifer Jenkins. I wanted to take a minute to tell you a bit about my opponent, Ashley Moody. Because the truth is, most Floridians don’t know what she stands for.
Let’s start with addressing some of the things Ashley Moody did as our Attorney General.
1️⃣ First, she signed a lawsuit backed by Trump that aimed to overturn Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory. She is a conspiracy theorist through and through.
2️⃣ Moody also worked relentlessly to prevent Amendment 4, the measure that would have secured abortion access in Florida, from being on the official 2024 ballot. 57% of Floridians voted for Amendment 4, just short of the 60% needed to pass. Floridians deserve a senator who will fight to ensure we have reproductive freedom.
3️⃣ Then, she was appointed as one of the senators from Florida solely because of her political connections to Ron DeSantis and Donald Trump, and because of the need to fill Marco Rubio’s vacancy. Ashley Moody was never elected to serve Floridians in the U.S. Senate.
So, what has Ashley Moody been up to in the U.S. Senate? Nothing good.
She’s worked to slash ACA subsidies, and if she’s successful, over 1.5 million Floridians could lose their health insurance. More Floridians rely on ACA subsidies than in any other state, and we deserve a senator who will fight to keep our health care affordable.
She also introduced the RIPPLE Act, which would allow non-federal law enforcement agencies to send officers to work in immigration enforcement without any additional training. In other words, people with basic police training would be allowed to work as federal immigration enforcement officers.
But the overarching theme of her nine months in the Senate? Ashley Moody has been a rubber stamp for Donald Trump’s radical agenda.
Her connections with MAGA millionaires, like the ones that hand-picked her for this job, mean she works for them – not for Florida.
She doesn’t care about the safety of the American people. She doesn’t care if we can afford healthcare, food, or housing for our families. She most certainly doesn’t care that unqualified people are holding high positions in our government and our law enforcement.
The truth is, I’m not just up against Ashley Moody; I’m up against the deep pockets of the GOP.
I’m running a grassroots campaign, which I am so proud of, but it is hard to compete with the money and power behind this seat.
