At this mapathon, we will map in Ouaddai province in eastern Chad
to provide medical care and assistance to displaced people and local communities. With the help of more accurate maps of the region, MSF teams are responding to malnutrition and malaria among children and working to prevent different types of outbreaks. You can read more about MSF's work in Chad on the MSF USA website.
A special initiative founded by Doctors Without Borders, American Red Cross, British Red Cross, and the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team, The Missing Maps Project is powered by volunteers around the world. Using OpenStreetMap, an open, free, and crowd-sourced platform, volunteers map underserved regions in order to provide international organizations, local organizations, and individuals with geographic data to better respond to crises. | |
