Congratulations to Abigail Spanberger, Ghazala Hashmi and Jay Jones - and 64 House Democrats!

Voters across the Commonwealth turned out in record numbers to deliver a Democratic sweep, winning all three statewide offices, and the biggest majority in the House of Delegates since 1989.

Abigail Spanberger will become Virginia's first woman governor, joined by Lieutenant Governor-elect Ghazala Hashmi and Attorney General-elect Jay Jones. Together, they've secured a Democratic trifecta, control of both chambers and the Governor's office.

This victory isn't just symbolic. It's a mandate. Virginians voted for an ambitious vision to protect reproductive rights, codify marriage equality, strengthen labor rights, raise wages, and ensure fair redistricting. The change we've fought for is finally within reach.

But there's one more battle, and it starts now.

Lieutenant Governor-elect Ghazala Hashmi's victory means her Senate seat will become vacant. That leaves our majority at 20-19 and it could disappear overnight. 

If we don't win the upcoming Special Election, we risk losing the power to deliver on everything we just fought for.

Our caucus must act immediately to defend this seat, and I need your help to do it.

This election also marks the 2 year anniversary of my first election win - and the 2 year warning until the next election for the Virginia Senate! I have worked hard these first two years to reward your trust, and I will work even harder these next two years to lead Virginia into the future!
