Across the country, voters delivered landslide victories that shook the foundations of the DC establishment—rejecting fascism, billionaire influence, and the politics of hate & division. The biggest shockwave came from Zohran Mamdani’s stunning win in New York City. The entire political machine—MAGA billionaires, corporate donors, party bosses—threw everything they had to crush his movement. But he still won. One thing became clear last night, a new generation of Democrats are leading a resurgence of the Democratic Party. A new, better politics is emerging, one rooted in community and determined to find bold, uncompromising solutions for the real struggles working-class Americans face. Mamdani’s opponent, Andrew Cuomo, lost because he represented everything that the American people hate about the old politics: narcissism, nepotism, corruption, & billionaire backroom deals. But perhaps even more importantly, he never stood a chance because he wasn’t in it for New Yorkers—he simply saw an open seat and an opportunity for power that he thought belonged to him. That’s why the campaign I am running here in IL-9 already has so much momentum. I was born here, raised here, and have spent the last decade fighting for the people of IL-9—as an activist, as a school board member, and as a proud daughter of this community. I’m running not to claim this seat for myself, but for the community that raised me. We’re part of the movement that’s reshaping the future of the Democratic Party and our nation.
