What a night for California — and for our country.
With the passage of Prop 50, voters across our state sent a powerful message: we see what’s happening across the nation, and we’re not standing by while Donald Trump and Republicans try to tighten their grip on power.
Californians showed that when our democracy is tested, we rise to the occasion. And we weren’t alone.
From coast to coast, voters stood up for progress, for decency, and for the future we believe in. The results nationwide make one thing clear — momentum is on our side.
Just because Prop 50 passed doesn’t mean anything is guaranteed. The outcome WILL be close, and my race could decide who controls the House next November. Every ounce of energy we build now will shape the outcome.

The son of hardworking farmworkers, Dr. Ruiz grew up in Coachella, CA and learned at an early age that the key to attaining the American Dream is hard work and a great education. In the summer of 1990, Raul walked in the desert heat from business to business in the Coachella Valley asking them to invest in their community by contributing to his education. With each investment for college, he made a promise to come back home and serve his community as a physician. In 2012, he decided to take his service to the community to the next level by running for Congress. Dr. Ruiz needs our help to continue fighting for us in Congress.
