John,
It's Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes. I'm writing to you from Washington, D.C., where I'm at the Supreme Court today for oral arguments in our case against Trump's illegal tariffs.

I also went on CNN this morning to tell the American people what's at stake in this fight, and I'll be on MSNBC later today to keep making the case.

Here's the bottom line: Trump doesn't follow the Constitution. He does whatever he wants.
These tariffs are nothing but a tax on consumers – making groceries, gas, and everyday goods even more unaffordable for Arizona families. Trump doesn't have unlimited authority to impose tariffs just because he feels like it, no matter how much he wants to play dictator.
In August, the U.S. Court of Appeals ruled 7-4 that Trump overstepped his authority. The judges wrote that "it seems unlikely that Congress intended to grant the President unlimited authority to impose tariffs."
We won that round. Now we're at the Supreme Court defending that victory.
Trump's administration has already collected over $193 billion from these illegal tariffs – $193 billion taken directly from American families. And he's vowing to continue.
I'm going to keep standing up for Arizonans who are at the mercy of Trump's tax increases. But to stay in this fight, I need your support.
Can you chip in today to help me keep the Trump administration accountable?
I'll keep taking Trump to court every time he breaks the law. That's what I do.
More updates soon from D.C.
– Kris
