Happy post-Election Day! I want to take a moment to say congratulations to two of my dear friends – Mikie Sherrill and Abigail Spanberger – who just made history in New Jersey and Virginia, winning their races for governor. I’ve served alongside both of these remarkable women since we won our House seats in 2018 – part of a wave of strong, passionate women who ran for Congress and said enough to Trump’s chaos. We entered the House together. We’ve shared late nights on the floor, long conversations about our home states, and more than a few laughs along the way. And yesterday? I got to cheer them on as they became governors-elect. It was emotional. It was hopeful. And it was a reminder that when you set out to fight for working people – good things happen. Because here’s the real takeaway from last night: Candidates who focus on lowering costs, their local communities, and actually listening to voters – they’re the ones who win. That’s what Mikie did. That’s what Abigail did. And that’s what I’m doing here in Michigan. I’m showing up like Mikie and Abigail did. I’m fighting to protect manufacturing jobs. Working to lower the cost of health care and groceries and utilities. And building a coalition of local support in union halls, in factories, and at kitchen tables all across this state. I’m celebrating these wins last night because they show us all what’s possible. And if we can carry this momentum into 2026 – if we keep building – we’ll win too. But Michigan is a top target for Senate Republicans. I’m statistically tied with Trump’s handpicked candidate, Mike Rogers – and the GOP has already raised over $5 million in dark money to turn Michigan red. But what they have in cash, we have in people. So if you’re as fired up as I am, let’s carry this momentum forward. Let’s build something strong enough to win – and to deliver for working families across Michigan and this country. Will you chip in today to help keep Michigan blue and flip the Senate? We’ve got work to do. And I couldn’t be more proud to do it with all of you. With grit and gratitude, Paid for by Haley Stevens for Michigan. |
