We just made history.
We just made history, John.
Last night showed what happens when young people refuse to “wait our turn.” We proved once again that when you back young, bold leaders rooted in their communities, we can win, redefine political power, and put our future back in our own hands.
So today, we’re not just celebrating election results. We’re celebrating three new leaders joining a progressive bench that will fight for us for decades to come. We’re celebrating the growing political power of an entire generation. We’re celebrating that we just elected the leaders we deserve. And let me tell you, after three long days and multiple 4 am starts door-knocking in Texas, Georgia, and New York City for our candidates, it feels good to celebrate.
We’re also celebrating you, John. Because of you, we just made history:
Zohran Mamdani — Mayor of New York City (LWD’s first ever elected mayor!) Zohran’s win marks a new chapter for a younger, bolder, and immensely more compelling Democratic movement. Even when the polls had him at 1%, he stayed true to his values, rallied a diverse coalition, and brought new voters into the electorate. He inspired an entire generation across the country with a platform that working people shouldn’t just scrape by — they should thrive. His victory proves that when young people organize around our principles, we win.

And we’re not done yet. Your support helped push two more of our champions into runoff elections:
- Christian Menefee (TX-18): Christian has never backed down from a fight. He’s taken on major corporations and even a president trying to take advantage of his community. Now, he’s headed to a runoff, and he needs our help to finish the fight and win. Members of our team are already on the ground in Houston helping Christian Menefee prepare for his runoff.
- Akbar Ali (GA-HD-106): At 21 years old, Akbar is fighting to make history and give young people a real voice in Georgia’s future. He’s ready to go to work for better teacher pay, affordable health care, and lower costs. Let’s help Akbar win and make sure this generation starts shaping our own future from inside the halls of power.
This is what the future looks like — and you are part of it. So I want to personally say to you, John:
Thank you.
I’m looking forward to more wins like this with you.
This movement isn’t slowing down. Two of our leaders are headed to runoffs, and we’re going all in to get them over the finish line. And we have more leaders on the ballot in 2026, some of whom have primaries in just a few months. We’ll also be endorsing and supporting more candidates in the coming months.
This is how we build power: race by race, election by election, year after year, together.
So if you’re ready to help us win these runoffs and keep building towards the midterms next year, please chip in $5 to keep us moving forward.

Last night proved we won’t wait any longer. We’re putting our future back in our own hands.
Looking forward to continuing to fight together, John.
