Team, I want to make sure we celebrate yesterday’s phenomenal election results, including some hugely significant under-the-radar victories:

* In Georgia: Democrats flipped two statewide offices with Dr. Alicia Johnson and Peter Hubbard getting elected to our state’s Public Service Commission. At Fair Fight, we were proud to endorse them — they even won in a county where Republicans usually get 60% of the vote.
* In Mississippi: Democrats won historic victories, breaking the GOP supermajority in the State Senate and ending the State House’s effective-supermajority. We’ve got to keep winning state legislative races like these as the GOP works state-by-state to rig our democracy in their favor — especially since the Supreme Court may be about to set off a wave of state-by-state racially discriminatory redistricting.
* In California: Voters overwhelmingly passed Proposition 50, a ballot initiative to launch a redistricting process that fights back against Republican map-rigging. This is critical, with states like Texas, Missouri, and North Carolina having already rigged their maps to appease Trump and tilt the scales in favor of the GOP.

As for the work ahead, it’s clear now that Americans are fed up with how Donald Trump and the GOP are running this country — and their anti-democracy extremism. We need to make the most of this momentum, and this team can help seize new opportunities to elect candidates who will protect our democracy — in red states, purple states, and blue states — and deliver free and fair elections. Here’s another critical takeaway: based on last night, Trump and his allies know their party will lose in 2026 if the elections are fair, so they’re rushing to rig the system. They’re scrambling to redraw the maps, block fair representation, and weaken our votes. This is a coordinated GOP power grab — not politics as usual. And we have to respond with everything we’ve got.
