Democrats have been frustrated with GOP leadership in the House for quite some time. But the Republican line is starting to crack, and divisions in their own party are starting to show.

Republicans, like Marjorie Taylor Greene, are getting vocal about their frustrations with Mike Johnson and Republican leaders over this shutdown. They are furious that the House is still in recess and that they can’t sit and talk through solutions with other members of Congress. They are fed up with Republican policies that are leaving their constituents in the dust. And they are angry that healthcare costs are rising across their districts.

All we can say is: It’s about time.

Republicans are in control of the House, Senate and White House. They have the power to call the House back into session and sit down with Democrats to make a deal to open the government. But they refuse to do their jobs. And now, their own party is turning its back on this reckless leadership.

Look, john–Kim is all about bipartisanship. She will work with anyone if it means real progress for the people of WA-08. But what we’re seeing from Republicans right now isn’t a desire to lead, and it isn’t a desire to do right by the American people.

Their backwards policies have hurt the people of WA-08, and we have to call them out for it. Democrats are fighting for lower healthcare costs, for fully-funded benefits that help Americans put food on the table, and so much more.
