The energy these three organizations put into nationwide races showed up in full force last night. Here are some of the victories:
In Virginia, Democrats flipped 13 seats in the House of Delegates, elected Abigail Spanberger, the state’s first woman governor, and secured their democratic majority.
In New Jersey, Mikie Sherill was elected as governor.
In New York City, Zohran Mamdani’s historic win marked a turning point for progressive candidates — demonstrating that courage and honesty can outshine special interests and succeed.
In Georgia, Democrats flipped two Public Service Commission seats — the first statewide Democratic win in almost 20 years.
In Mississippi, Democrats broke the GOP supermajority by flipping two Republican-held state Senate seats.
In California, voters approved Proposition 5, expanding the state’s House by five seats and countering Republican redistricting efforts in red states.
Plus, two leaders who have been gaining momentum, Christian Menefee in TX-18 and Akbar Ali in Georgia’s HD 106, both advanced to their runoffs.
