Too many communities in our country today have been affected by gun violence, often at the hands of those who should not be permitted to own a gun.
Children shouldn’t have to practice active shooter drills.
Parents shouldn’t have to worry every morning about whether their kids will come home from school.
I believe in allowing law-abiding, responsible citizens to own firearms — states must also have the power to prevent tragedy before it happens. That means keeping guns out of the hands of people who would use them to harm others.
Too many lives have been lost for us not to take action. That’s why I joined 17 attorneys general in filing an amicus brief to support a state’s ability to enact reasonable firearms regulations to protect their communities from gun violence, and ensure that only responsible, upstanding citizens are allowed to buy guns.
I’m committed to continuing this work and keeping Maryland safe, but I need your support to keep it going. Will you join me in my efforts to keep our communities safe by contributing to my re-election campaign today?
