John,

Last night was a big win for democracy.

Voters across the country showed what happens when we organize, when we
believe in each other, and when we refuse to give up on this country.

Democrats swept major races, electing Zohran Mamdani as New York City
mayor, Mikie Sherrill as governor of New Jersey, and Abigail Spanberger as
governor of Virginia—a 9-point swing from the 2024 election!

And one victory in particular stood out—a powerful reminder of what’s
possible when people organize together to fight back. California
overwhelmingly passed Proposition 50, a voting rights win that rebalances
the maps after Trump’s power grab in Texas and puts power back where it
belongs: with the people.

These victories didn’t come from Washington or the DNC. They came from
neighbors knocking doors, volunteers texting voters, communities
organizing together at local events, and people like you refusing to sit
this one out.

At Powered by People, this is exactly why we do the hard work of
registering and turning out voters as we build power from the ground up
and make sure every person has a voice. Let’s keep this momentum
going—because we know that Texas can be next.
