Fast forward to now, and millions of families and children are at risk of going hungry.
Friend,
One year ago today, Trump was elected.
Fast forward to now, just one year later, and millions of families and children are at risk of going hungry. $366 million in SNAP benefits have been paused because of the longest government shutdown in our country’s history, cutting off a lifeline for nearly one in six Pennsylvanians.
This is just the latest example of how Trump and his band of MAGA extremists are hurting Americans. It’s cruelty, not governance.
While MAGA politicians in both Washington and Harrisburg use hunger as a political weapon, I’m working to make sure our neighbors don’t go hungry. Last week, we introduced the Pennsylvania Food Bank and Hunger Relief Grant Program, which includes $50 million for food banks, $10 million for Meals on Wheels, and $2 million for administrative support. These funds will help 18 food banks stay open and feed families who are being failed by their government.
